Jaguar is Committed to Developing the Luxury Electric Vehicle Industry in Indonesia

Vehicle electrification is increasingly widespread in Indonesia with more and more people starting to switch from conventional vehicles to electric vehicles (EV). This change is in line with "Reimagine" – a strategy and commitment from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) that aims to produce sustainable electric vehicles with modern elements through design. Through this principal strategy, JLR has the vision to present full electric vehicles by 2025.


President Director PT JLM Indonesia, Gerry Kertowidjojo reiterated JLR's commitment to develop luxury electric vehicles during the "RE:CHARGE LIVE 2023" event on June 1, 2023. In his speech, he stated that one of the ways that Jaguar has contributed to advancing the energy transition program within the luxury electric vehicle industry in Indonesia is by presenting environmentally friendly electric vehicles with high performance. Jaguar's involvement in the 2023 Jakarta E-Prix is the proof of their commitment to continue the innovation in high performance electric vehicles (EV). Jaguar's technological capabilities have been proven in building electric vehicles that are not only environmentally friendly but also high-performance to align with the theme the future of uncompromising luxury mobility.


In the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the Jaguar TCS Racing team, represented by Mitch Evans and Sam Bird, competed using the Jaguar I-TYPE 6 vehicle. The technology owned by the Jaguar I-Type 6 will be adapted to Jaguar electric vehicles, including the Jaguar I-Pace. This is a way from PT JLM to show its commitment towards the EV sector starting with presenting the I-PACE as a full electric vehicle with high performance in Indonesia.


Jaguar I-PACE is equipped with various advanced technologies, including 90kWh battery technology capable of producing 400 PS of power, which enables acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 200 km/h; the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) drive system that combines agility with maximum traction, which provides a balance of control during normal road conditions, and smooth power delivery to prevent slippage during challenging terrain conditions; Torque Vectoring by Braking technology combined with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), that provides complete, accurate control for the user; an infotainment system capable of performing multiple functions with 1 touch via an intuitive 10-inch touch screen, equipped with a wireless connection for smartphones to enjoy various favourite applications; MeridianTM Sound System that produces clear sound quality that is evenly distributed to every passenger in the vehicle through 11 speakers and dual-channel subwoofer with 400W Amplifier; the Adaptive Dynamics system that regulates dynamic stability control and air suspension that adapts to driving characteristics, thereby creating dynamic control; as well as an interior equipped with premium leather seats to emphasize the sporty character of the electric SUV I-PACE which gives a touch of luxury and elegance.


During his speech at the RE:CHARGE LIVE 2023 event, Irvino Edwardly as Sales & Marketing Director of PT JLM Auto Indonesia emphasized the long-term warranty that all Jaguar customers can enjoy after purchasing the Jaguar I-PACE car. Like other Jaguar vehicles, the Jaguar I-PACE is equipped with a 5-year or 150,000 km warranty, and an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, along with 5 years of Free Service maintenance. These warranties are provided to further provide a sense of security and convenience for customers. He also pointed out that Jaguar's official showroom and workshop at Pantai Indah Kapuk is completed with special facilities and equipment according to Jaguar's global standards to provide guarantees as well as answer the wishes of luxury electric vehicle consumers.
